The boards have shelving and handling wear about all edges and corners. They are light scuffed and marked from handling and shelving. The frontispage has a previous owner signature. The papertrims are freckled with foxing. There are occasional rashes and flushes of foxing. In general, the contents are mild, earnest, clean and clear, confident. Vol II: 'Formation and Tending of Woods, or Practical Sylviculture' - pub: 1891. Previous owner stamps to the forward pages. The boards have wear, scuffing all about. There are handling marks, scratches. The spine has wear to the head and foot. The boards and spine are efficient and sure. The papertrims are tanned. Age-related foxing throughout the contents. There are some usage and handling marks. In general, the contents are contented, clean and clear, certain, more than competent. Volume III: includes 'Mensuration and Valuation': 'Forest Management' - 5th Ed. pub: 1925. The boards have some corner and edge wear from shelving. They have light scuffing and storage marks. They are steady and sound. The papertrims have flecks of foxing. Previous owner signatures and stamps to the fore. Annotations throughout. Flushes, smears of foxing here and there throughout. Nonetheless, the contents are tidy, neat, clear, certain, confident. Vol IV: 'Forest Protection' by W R Fisher ... being 'an English adaption of "Der Forstschutz" by Dr Richard Hess" - second ed - pub 1907. The boards have much wear about all edges, corners, seams. The cloth covering has wrinkles. They have scuffing, marks. The spine has been worn and burnished by handling and shelving. The spine and boards are comfortable and secure. Previous owner signatures on the frontispage. Shelving marks and tanning to the papertrims. Contents are annotated throughout. The contents are a little elderly, have evidence of eager use. The contents are by far clean, clear, healthy, most assured and certain. Vol V: 'Forest Utilization' by W R Fisher ... being an English translation of "Die Forstbenutzung' by Dr Karl Gayer - second ed - pub. 1908. Previous owner signature on the frontispage. Included: a copy of 'Edinburgh and East of Scotland College of Agriculture - Forest Chemistry (Practical) - Degree and Diploma Examination - Thursday, 11th March 1920, 9am-12 noon.' The boards have shelving and handling wear about all corners, edges, seams. They are scuffed and a little marked from handling and shelving. They are sound and healthy. The papertrims have freckles of foxing. The contents have annotations. However, the contents are also clean, clear, orderly, neat, agreeably competent and amenable.
